 | | Miner photos/Michael Denuty | A fatal car accident backed up traffic for hours on Friday afternoon, along Highway 2 between Priest River and Newport. Michael Stanley, 74, of Cranbrook, British Columbia, was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Idaho State Police, Stanley crossed the center line in his 1992 Chevy Cavalier. He was heading eastbound at about milepost 3.6, near the Mangy Moose Café. His vehicle sideswiped the 1990 Pontiac Grand Am, driven by Rebecca Seubert, 36, of Priest River. Stanley’s vehicle continued in the westbound lane and hit a 2006 Chevy Equinox head-on, driven by Jennifer Lamanna, 22, of Oldtown. Lamanna was airlifted to Kootenai Medical Center. Seubert wasn’t injured. The investigation is continuing.Ponderay fears jump in power prices
