Nancy Monk


Nancy Monk of Furport, passed away April 20, 2021, at the age of 88.

She was burn July 11, 1932, in Spokane to Conrad and Virginia Eronson. She married Ted Monk on Oct. 7, 1950, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Newport.

She spent many of her school years in Catholic Schools in Spokane then went to Newport High School for a couple of years, and graduated from St. Aloysius in Spokane in 1950.

Nancy was very active in St. Anthony’s starting the first clothing bank in the old church where they were married. She spent a lot of time and effort there providing a smile and an awesome price which in turn the proceeds helped pay down the mortgage on the new church. Nancy also volunteered doing hair for free at the nursing home for years.

Nancy loved to yard sale and her card groups including pinochle.

She was a long time member of the Skookum Grange.

Nancy is survived by her daughters Debbie (Steve) Smith, Laurel (Steve) Braun, sons Tracy (Patty), Doug (LiLi), Logan and Aaron Monk. She also had six grandchildren Lisa, Jordan, Haley, Christopher, Nicholas and Kevin and four great-grandchildren.

Nancy was preceded by her husband of 57 years, her son Curt, infant son Kevin, and her parents Conrad and Virginia Eronson.

A Celebration of Life was held for Nancy and her son Curt on April 23, 2021, at the American Legion in Cusick, Wash.
