Scape Days June 26-27

PRIEST RIVER – Garlic lovers, take note. Snow Valley Garlic Farm will host Scape Days 2021 Saturday, June 26 and Sunday, June 27, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. There will be a chili cook-off on Saturday that the public is welcome to participate in. Cost is $3 per person to sample and vote on best chilis. Judging begins at noon that day. People can compete in the cook-off as teams or individuals. A single batch of chili totaling at least two-gallons (256 ounces) is required. Chili can be pre-made, but needs to be kept warm for the event. Ten ounces will be drawn for judge's tasting. The remainder will be used for People's Choice tasting.

Castaway Cellars will have wines to taste throughout the two-day event and Selle Valley Creamery will have their cheese on Saturday only. Local craft beer samples will be available from Kings Brewery in Priest River. Goat cheese and goat milk soap by T&T Farm will be for sale. There will be homemade garlic ice cream by Aloha Anne and an Idaho baked potato bar with all of the fixings.

Garlic scapes will be for sale as well. Because the farm is remote and WiFi doesn’t always work, people are encouraged to bring cash or checks only.
