NEWPORT – A Newport Caregivers Support Group has formed and will meet Wednesday, Aug. 21, at the Hospitality House in Newport from 1-2 p.m.
Presented by the Alzheimer’s Association, the group will meet the fourth Wednesday of each month at the Hospitality House, located at 216 S. Washington Ave. The group will share information and support one another. There is no cost. Call Cindy Klein at 509-447-2609 for information.
Free kids carnival at Pow Wow grounds
USK – There will be a free children’s carnival put on by the Kalispel Tribe Wednesday, Aug. 21, from 11 am. to 3 p.m. The event aims to raise awareness of the opioid crisis while providing a fun and engaging day for families. There will be treats, a bounce house and a limited number of t-shirts.
Priest River child screening Sept. 5
PRIEST RIVER - A Well Child Developmental Check Up Screener will be held on Thursday, Sept. 5, from 8 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the Priest River Elementary School. The screenings are free and children ages birth through 5 years old will be screened in the following areas: Speech, language, gross motor, fine motor, readiness, hearing, vision, and other developmental areas. The Priest River Elementary school is located at 231 Harriet Street in Priest River. Screener is by appointment Only.
