NPOV Lions Club Railriders

IONE – There’s two more weekends left to ride the rails in north Pend Oreille County. The NPOV Lions Club Railriders have their Autumn Rides scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 21-22 and Sept. 28-29, at 9 a.m. and noon each day.

Tickets are $120 for a four-seat railrider. Ask about group rates. The ride is two hours and nine miles, rain or shine so bring weather appropriate attire.

Johnny Appleseed’s birthday party

CHATTAROY – It’s Johnny Appleseed’s birthday party and you’re invited, Saturday, Sept. 21, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Hansen’s Green Bluff Orchard.

Live music, free birthday cake, door prizes, kid’s activities, plus apples, cider, you-cut flowers and much more will be offered. Hansen’s is located at 8215 E. Green Bluff Rd., and can be reached at 509-238-4902.

Annual Cutter Theatre fundraisers, concert

METALINE FALLS – The Annual Cutter Theatre Shrimp Boil, Ping Pong Ball Raffle, and Auction is Saturday, Sept. 14. Tickets for the shrimp boil are $40, reservations are required by Sept. 9, dinner begins at 5 p.m. followed by the Ping Pong Raffle. Tickets for the Ping Pong Balls are $20 for a chance to win $1,000. Only 100 tickets are sold so get yours before they are sold out. The auction will be gin at 7 p.m. All proceeds will go towards the new carpet and flooring at the Cutter Theatre.

The Cutter will be hosting Paper Flowers “Remembering Fleetwood Mac” on Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 for the show. There will be dinner before the show at 6 p.m. Reservations are required and the cost is $20.

‘Let’s Vike It’ first Viking Age Faire

NEWPORT – Let’s Vike It is coming to Newport City Park Saturday, Sept. 14.

Let’s Vike It has historical vendors offering items for sale. During the event people will be able to watch fighters demonstrate combat, walk through a Norse museum complete with artifacts dating back to the 8th century, walk through a Viking Village, learn to make copper jewelry the Old Norse way, meet an authentic blacksmith and try their hands at tossing a coin to win a Norse cup, among other activities.

There is a schedule of events starting at 10:30 a.m. after a traditional Norse welcoming, with different Norse/Viking activities happening throughout the day.
