Cutter auction items appealing

METALINE FALLS – The Cutter Theatre Auction, set for Sept. 14 at 7 p.m., has many attractive items on which to bid. The auction is a fundraiser for the Cutter Theatre.

For sports fans, there are Whitworth season men’s basketball tickets, two sets of Gonzaga men’s basketball tickets and four Red level ticket to the Spokane Chiefs games.

For youngsters, there are four Disney on Ice tickets, four Monster Jam tickets and four Raptor Reef tickets. There is also an overnight stay at the Coeur d’Alene Resort and a night at China Bend Winery in Kettle Falls.

‘Establishing a Home Orchard’ class Sept. 12

NEWPORT – A Master Gardener panel will discuss how to plan an orchard, purchase the best trees, planting procedures, caring for the trees during the growing season, when to harvest and how to store fruit. They will also discuss pest management and fruit tree pruning during a class Thursday, Sept. 12, at 6:30 p.m. at Create Arts Center, located at 900 4th Street in Newport.

Senior health, resource fair Saturday

USK – The Camas Center for Community Wellness is the site of a free senior/elder health and resource fair Saturday, Sept. 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The fair will feature more than 15 services and resources available to older people. The Camas Center is located at 821 LeClerc Rd. N. in Usk.

Caregiver support group meets Wednesday

NEWPORT – A Newport Caregivers Support Group has formed and will meet the fourth Wednesday of each month, at the Hospitality House in Newport from 1-2 p.m. The Hospitality House is located at 216 S. Washington Ave.

Presented by the Alzheimer’s Association, the group will share information and support one another. There is no cost.
