PRIEST RIVER – The Priest River Spartans boys soccer team had won three games in a row when they went to Grangeville for a Central Idaho League game, where they lost their first contest of the season 1-0 Saturday.
Junior goalkeeper Baylor White had 14 saves for Priest River.
Earlier in the week, the Spartans shutout Timberlake 3-0 at home Thursday, Sept. 5.
In the Timberlake game, the Spartans scored in the first half with a booming 30-yard shot on goal by senior Cameron Howell in the 22nd minute. In the second half another senior, Conner Stevens, scored two goals, one at the 42nd minute and another at the 63rd minute.
The Spartans’ big goalkeeper, 6-foot, 4-inch junior Baylor White, had eight saves.
Priest River has back-toback games with Bonners Ferry next. The Spartans are home Friday, Sept. 13, for a game that starts at 6 p.m. Priest River then travels to Bonners Ferry Monday, Sept. 16 for a game that starts at 7 p.m.
