ACH too much for Cusick

CUSICK – The Almira/ Coulee-Hartline Warriors, a perennial sports powerhouse, beat the Cusick Panthers at home Friday night, getting a 60-8 win.

ACH scored four first quarter touchdowns on 35-, 15- and 1-yard runs, along with a 2-yard TD pass.

The Warriors added another four TDs in the second quarter, again on runs of 20-, 1- and 11-yards. ACH went into the halftime break up 60-0.

Cusick got on the board in the fourth quarter with a 33-yard Thomas Sullivan run. Roland Campbell rushed for the successful point after conversion.

Cusick’s Friday the 13th road game against Northport was canceled. Cusick’s next game will be homecoming Friday, June 20, at home against Selkirk at 7 p.m.

 

Selkirk falls to Curlew 

CURLEW – The Selkirk football made the long trip to Curlew Friday, Sept. 7 and the even longer trip back following a 60-0 defeat.

Next week the Rangers are at home against Columbia Friday, Sept. 13. That game starts at 7 p.m.

 

Newport girls soccer at home Thursday

NEWPORT – The Newport girls soccer team will play their first home game of the season against Freeman Thursday, Sept. 12 at 4 p.m.

Newport opened their season with a game at Riverside Tuesday, Sept. 10, after the newspaper’s deadline. We’ll have results next week. Tuesday, Sept. 17, the Grizzlies go to Spangle for a game with Liberty.
