Lamanna wins Bonners Ferry Invite

BONNERS FERRY – Priest River’s Brayden Lamanna took first place in the boys cross country meet at Bonners Ferry Saturday, Sept. 14, outrunning 28 others.

Lamanna finished with a time of 17:04 minutes to win the Bonners Ferry Invitational.

Fellow Spartan Daniel Gunkle finished 12th with a time of 21:03 minutes.

William Rheinford did the best for the Newport boys, running a 21:45 minute race and finishing 13th. He was followed by John Spring, who finished 15th with a 22 minute race and Braden Baugh, who took 16th with a time of 23:37 minutes. Newport boys finished third in the team competition, with 73 points, behind Bonners Ferry and Kellogg.

Newport’s Olivia Collins had the best finish for the Newport girls, taking fourth of 18 runners with a time of 23:05.3 minutes. Kasey St. Andere and Aurelia Johnson also ran for the Newport girls, finishing 16th and 17th.

Kyla White had the best time for the Priest River girls, finishing sixth with a time of 24:27 minutes. Capri White and Alannah McLaimtag finished seventh and eighth with times of 24:35 and 25:18 respectively.

Newport next goes to the Can-Am Invitational meet in Kettle Falls Saturday, Sept. 21. Wednesday, Sept. 25, Newport will go to St. George’s for a league meet.
