NEWPORT – Pend Oreille Public Utility District (PUD) is joining more than 2,000 community-powered, not-for-profit electric utilities across the country in celebrating Public Power Week, Oct. 6-12. Collectively, these utilities provide reliable electricity to more than 54 million Americans in 49 states and five U.S. territories.
“We’re proud to be a part of this community and to serve our friends and neighbors every day,” said Sarah Holderman, Director of Customer Service at Pend Oreille PUD. “As a locally owned and operated utility… Our deep ties to the area reinforce our commitment to supporting the people we serve and the county.”
To celebrate Public Power Week, Pend Oreille PUD is inviting the community to stop by its Newport or Box Canyon offices from Oct. 7-10 for free coffee, cookies, and Pend Oreille PUD swag. The Newport office is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Box Canyon is open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
