Pend Oreille Offices closed Monday for training

NEWPORT - Pend Oreille County offices will be closed to the public on Monday, Oct.14, for an All-Staff Training Day (with the exception of the Sheriff’s Office and Courts). This is scheduled as a workday for employees, but offices are closed to the public.

West Bonner superintendent holding series of meetings

PRIEST RIVER – Kim Spacek, the superintendent of the West Bonner County School District, is holding a series of meetings to introduce himself, lay out the district goals and listen to questions about the district.

Thursday, Oct. 10, at 8:30 a.m., Spacek will be at the Hoodoo Creek Cafe and Market at 4156 Vay Road. Monday, Oct. 14, Spacek will be at the Blue Lake Grange at 9518 Old East Side Road at 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. Spacek will be at the Surf Shack in Blanchard at 33 Geaudreau Road in Blanchard. Monday, Oct. 21, he will be at Infinity Café at 5770 Hwy. 2 in Priest River at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, Spacek will be at the Laclede Community Center at 24 Moore Loop in Lacede at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, Spacek will be at Nickleback Restaurant in Nordman at 36442 Hwy. 57 at 5 p.m.

Port adds meeting

USK – The Port of Pend Oreille has added another meeting to their schedule. According to a legal notice in last week’s Miner, the Port will meet the third Friday of each month, in addition to their regular meeting on the second Tuesday of the month. The Port also rescheduled their Tuesday, Oct. 8 meeting to Friday, Oct. 11, at 9 a.m.
