There was an old Hippie that drove a red van Who drove to Oklahoma to prove that she can Her two brown dogs, as companions she took Ten states in all to get a good look They followed a route she’d taken with Brad There were many happy tears and tears oh so sad They went out to see some friends very dear And laugh at old stories you’d all love to hear It took just ten days to get there and back At home friends and family did feed chickens and cat (s) None of us know our moment or hour Life is too short to be mean, nasty or sour Live each day grateful Be happy and kind And to other folks’ troubles Never be blind This is not the end of my ‘story’ Just the end of this rhyme I’ll be united with Brad When God says it’s time Until then I’ll travel With Marshall Tucker and Maple Mae Living life to it’s FULLEST Day after day -Jenny Byrd
