REPUBLIC – The Cusick Panther football team got a big 70-28 win over Republic Friday at Republic. Cusick coach Brandon Harting said the Panthers learned a lot in their game the previous week against Wilbur-Creston- Keller.
“Our game versus WCK was full of lessons,” Harting says. “We fought hard and learned to play at faster pace. It was a great test from a great team. I believe we got better from that game.”
That improvement was on display against Republic. “At Republic last Friday night our offense shined,” Harting says. “We threw the ball well and ran the ball well. We have some work to do still at getting better on defense; we talked about it today and are focused on bringing special teams, offense and defense all together and playing complete games from here on out. It’ll be a great opportunity to showcase our seniors when Columbia (Hunters) comes to town, this Friday night.”
Cusick (3-1, 3-3) next plays Columbia-Hunters (0-5, 0-7) at home Friday, Oct. 25 at 7 p.m.
Cusick is in third place in league, behind Curlew (40, 4-2) and Inchelium (4-0, 5-2). Selkirk is fourth (2-2, 2-5), Springdale (1-3, 1-5) is fifth followed by Republic (1-4, 1-6) and Columbia-Hunters.
