POST FALLS – The Priest River boys soccer team won their first Intermountain League district tournament game against Orofino Monday, Oct. 14, a 1-0 win.
The winning goal came in the 63rd minute by Cameron Howell. That put Priest River in a semifinal loser out match with Coeur d’Alene Charter Tuesday.
Although goalkeeper Baylor White had 15 saves for Priest River, it wasn’t enough to hold off Coeur d’Alene Charter, who took 22 shots on goal and won 4-0.
“It’s always going to be tough to play our second game in two days against the No. 1 team in the league, especially when they’re coming off rest with the first-round bye,” Priest River High head coach Ryan Carruth told The Bonner County Daily Bee.
