Costume Fun Run/ Walk The Kalispel Tribe of Indians Camas Path Prevention Program is hosting a costume fun run/walk Thursday, Oct. 24, 1-4 p.m. at the Pow-Wow Grounds in Cusick. Participants are invited to join the fun and festive run/walk in their favorite costume. A guest speaker will talk about healthy choices and the impact of positive influences. This event also celebrates Red Ribbon Week, a time for people nationwide to engage in critical dialogue about making positive choices and avoiding drug and alcohol use.

Trunk or Treat at EWU Early Head Start Join EWU Early Head Start and Head Start in Newport for a family- friendly Halloween cele- bration Saturday, Oct. 26, geared towards those with children 0 to 5-years-old.

Trunk or Treat goes from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and offers games, face painting and treats. Costumes are optional. The venue will be in the Head Start parking lot, located at 200 S, Calispel Ave., Newport.

Free movie marathon The Newport Roxy Theater hosts its annual Free Halloween Movie Marathon Saturday, Oct.

26 with doors opening at 12:10 p.m. People are encouraged to dress up for the costume contest.

The marathon starts with It’s The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown at 12:40 p.m., followed by Hotel Transylvania at 1:10 p.m.

There will be a break for the costume contest at 2:45 p.m. Halloweentown starts at 3:05 p.m. and the event wraps up with Hocus Pocus at 4:40 p.m.

Concessions are still regularly priced. Please no outside food or drink.

Monster Mash at Metaline

Come over to the Monster Mash Saturday, Oct.

26 at 12 p.m. The event starts with a scavenger hunt at the Cutter Theatre in Metaline Falls and ends at the Metaline Waterfront Park. Prizes will be given out for finishing the scavenger hunt and completed cards will be entered into a drawing. There will also be a costume contest, pumpkin decorating, cake walk, prizes, candy, food and drinks. There will also be a holiday food drive and registration for the Tree of Sharing will be open. The Cutter is located at 302 Park Street in Metaline Falls and the Metaline Waterfront Park 325-389 N. Main Ave.

Ione Market Pumpkin Carving Contest

The Ione Market celebrates its last day of the season with a pumpkin carving contest Saturday, Oct. 26, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Winners will receive prizes and there will be a variety of local vendors. Kids in costumes get to trick or treat at vendor booths. The Ione Saturday Market is located at Hwy. 31 Grind, 208 main Street. Halloween Party at the Camas Center

The Camas Center for Community Wellness is hosting a Halloween party Saturday, Oct. 26, 2-6 p.m. The party will feature games, treats, and activities for all ages. Guests should wear their best costume for the costume contest. Light refreshments and small snacks will be available to keep the energy going throughout the event.

Haunted House

A free haunted house hosted by the Kalispel Tribe’s Cultural Department is open Thursday, Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the community building. Explore the spooky corridors, enjoy trick-or-treating through the haunted house, and capture memories at the photo area. Feeling hungry? Stop by the Witch’s Kitchen for some refreshments and food.

Downtown Trick or Treat, Stratton Trunk or Treat Newport’s Downtown Trick or Treat is Thursday, Oct. 31, 3-6 p.m. at businesses on Washington and Union Streets. Free hot dogs will be served at Newport City Hall. After that, head to Stratton Elementary School’s Trunk or Treat, 5-7 p.m. in the east parking lot. Setup starts at 3:30 p.m. To participate, email [email protected].

Trick or Treat at Priest Lake Library Library patrons are encouraged to don their best costumes and come to the Priest Lake Public Library for some candy Thursday, Oct. 31. The library is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Halloween on Main Street Priest River’s Halloween on Main Street is Thursday, Oct. 31, 3-6 p.m. To participate, email meagan@ westbonnerlibrary. org or call 208-448-2207.

Afterwards, head to the West Bonner County School District’s Scary Bus and Treats event in the bus yard at 6 p.m.
