Fire District 4 budget hearing Nov. 6
DALKENA – Pend Oreille County Fire District 4 will hold its annual budget meeting Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 6 p.m. at the meeting room of the fire station at 11 Dalkena Street. The meeting is for fire district commissioners to review and adopt its 2025 budget.
Department of Transportation asks drivers to prepare for winter
OLYMPIA – While leaves are just starting to fall in many places, Washington State Department of Transportation crews have been preparing for winter for several months.
But they also need the traveling public to prepare for the coming weather. Many mountain pass closures, for example, are due to poor driver behavior. This includes going too fast for conditions or failing to have proper equipment for snow and ice. Studded tires are allowed in Washington from Nov. 1 to March 31 and stud-free winter tire alternatives are legal year-round. Come meet West Bonner school superintendent
PRIEST RIVER – Kim Spacek, the superintendent of West Bonner County School District, will be appearing at the last two Meet and Greet events. Tuesday, Oct. 29, Spacek will be at the Nickleplate Restaurant in Nordman at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, Spacek will be at Idaho Hill Elementary, also at 5 p.m.
County to discuss tri-county superior court, juvenile budget
NEWPORT – The Pend Oreille County commissioners will meet Monday, Oct. 28, at 10:30 a.m. for a 2025 budget workshop for the Tri-County Superior Court/Juvenile with Stevens and Ferry counties.
