The wrap-up smear
To the editor, The Crossfire Hurricane Russian collusion hoax against Trump in 2016-2017 is a great example of the wrap-up smear tactic used by what I believe are the corrupted intelligence agencies against Americans they can’t control.
The tactic attempts to discredit an individual or group by spreading outright lies, rumors, or halftruths about them. First, a false narrative is created, which is then “leaked” to and “reported” by one of the “Trusted News Initiative” media, who typically attribute the leak to “anonymous sources.” The public perceives media coverage as “validation” for the smear, which is quickly snapped up by other media outlets, thereby spreading the narrative. Often the narrative is so scripted that the same key phrases are echoed everywhere.
This tactic can irreparably harm an individual’s or group’s reputation, even when the false claims are eventually debunked. It also erodes trust in targeted officials or institutions. In the case of the Russia collusion hoax, many Democrats still believe that Trump and his “cronies” are Russian assets, despite Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation report that found no evidence of collusion.
In the case of Edward Snowden, a whistleblower who exposed the NSA’s actual criminal activity, the Obama administration smeared him as the “traitor and a fugitive,” conveniently distracting public attention away from the serious implications of those revelations, which soon faded into obscurity.
Instead of receiving whistleblower protection, Snowden is still vilified today.
I believe the flurry of lawsuits filed against Trump were timed to interfere with his presidential campaign to irreparably smear him and thus repel voters. Unfortunately for those Democrats, Trump voters are now wise to these tactics and simply ignore them. Watch as smear tactics are employed against controversial cabinet nominations like Matt Gaetz and RFK Jr; “controversial,” in my view, solely due to wrap-up smear campaigns.

Not so fast
To the editor, Responding to my friend Pete regarding his thoughts on propaganda, I would have to say that if people voted based on that, Ms.
Harris would have won the race.
With no evidence of any accomplishments as V.P.
She and her minions chose the strategy of scare tactics. Trump is a racist, a threat to democracy, he will kill your children, he will lower taxes for billionaires, he will put her supporters in jail, he will retaliate against his political enemies and let’s not forget that he is Hitler! No, that didn’t work. Most of the voters used their common sense instead of hate. Mr. Trump campaigned on policies and ideas that people could relate to. He talked of closing the border, putting criminals in jail, bringing down gas and grocery prices, getting rid of government waste, tariffs on products not made in the United States, and more. The people did not agree with the political persecution Trump was put through.
He worked harder than any Presidential candidate in history. Facts won out over propaganda.
Optimism won out over Pessimism. Capitalism won out over Fascism.
America is moving forward again.

Republicans have done nothing
To the editor, I noticed a letter in last week’s Newport Miner from Mr. Leroy Leland talk about why he voted for Mr. Trump. Talked about what a wonderful economy he had.
As usual Trump takes credit for things that he had nothing to do with. During Trump’s time in office he spent more time golfing than any other president ever has.
He did nothing but watch people die from COVID. Now we have another idiot, Kennedy who believes that vaccines cause autism. He is an absolute moron.
All Joe Biden tried to do was to help our country. Congress being ran by Republicans is the most worthless group of people I think I have ever seen. They have done nothing.
Women are lucky they’re able to breathe without a man giving them permission.
Do I believe we have had a free and honest election? Not one bit.
Elon Musk was bragging about all the work he did to get Trump in office and then he was given billions of dollars the next day. It’s time to do away the electoral college. Hillary Clinton, I believe, was cheated out of her office when she ran against Trump, people were so repulsed by Trump’s behavior that Joe Biden won the election. This time feel election was stolen from Kamala Harris. I’m not happy with Trump taking over with his Posse of Clowns.
I believe, this is my opinion that the people that are getting positions in Trump’s clown cabinet or the ones that paid the most money to him.
So hopefully for only 4 years we have an idiot who can’t put together a complete sentence come or a complete thought. That is who we have to run our nation.

Economics
To the editor, The November 5th election holds another record. Trump received the most votes ever for a Republican candidate, over 76 million.
He beat Reagan’s by nearly 20 million.
I think Pete Scobby (Miner, Nov.
20) is missing the bigger picture.
America runs on energy and where it goes most everything else follows. The President’s policies on energy play a major role on how prices react. Let’s look at some examples.
Trump took office in 2017. He immediately reduced regulations that were hampering energy production. Production increased dramatically and competition forced prices down. The cost of living came down with it. For the first time America became energy independent.
Biden entered office in 2021. In addition to cancelling the Keystone Pipeline, he reversed Trump and put the regulations back on the energy industry. Production slowed and prices went up. The cost of living followed. It’s economics.
When Trump enters office in 2025, he will reopen the Keystone pipeline and reverse Biden’s restrictive energy policies. Production will increase and prices will again fall. I predict that within 12 months after entering office, energy prices will be cut in half and the cost of living with it. I am not sitting on Santa’s lap wishing for prices to drop as Pete suggests, I am simply waiting for them to fall. Pete mentions sarcastically that Trump will wave his hand and multi-national corporations will bend to his wishes. They will, it’s called tariffs. Trump is a businessman. Trumps corporate tax and tariff plan is brilliant. It will not only keep business in America but will bring foreign business to America. He’s a master on how to use these tools.
Some say, “But Trump has gone through bankruptcies.” That’s true and he came back stronger.
Look around. Who better to bring America back than someone with experience?

Democrats lost election over transgenderism
To the editor, It can be said that Democrats lost the election over transgenderism.
Political bigotry elected Trump, the congress and courts. Democrats lost because they didn’t bash trans people before the Republicans. They didn’t beat Republicans in kicking the trans person when he/she fell to the ground.
My point was proven when Delaware elected a trans person to congress, and how quickly Republicans objected to the new trans congresswoman using the women’s restrooms in the Capital.
When my fire department hired female firefighters, we simply put a lock on the door to the common restroom. Today, most public restrooms are “all gender” and have locks on the doors. The other option at most rest areas is the family restroom which allows either the male or female parent to take a opposite sex child to the restroom.
Republicans use the same political arguments that they did in the last century during the civil rights movement. Those bashing arguments worked for this election.
Like race equality, transgenderism wasn’t invented by Democrats.
God made us who we are. God didn’t give me a gay or trans identity, but he did give it to others. My political failing is that I didn’t spend a lifetime bashing other peo- ple over race, sex or identity. Like most Democrats, I simply cannot bash ‘certain’ people enough to gain the political points needed to win elections.
It is accurate to say that around 40% of the US population is sick, old or disabled. Republican Trumpism will bash them one group at a time and continue to win elections. Republican voters may one day find themselves in one of those targeted groups. I can’t wait to see the look on the face of Republican voters who thought they were safe from being bashed by the authoritarian government they put into power.
