Narrative Management
To the editor, A propaganda technique used frequently by governments is a four-stage Narrative Management scheme employed to hide activities from the public that they know would trigger strong objections. Press releases (aka “scripts”) are released to the 'Trusted News Initiative” members who, in my observation, can only be “trusted” to stick to the script, no questions asked.
Each stage is launched when it’s obvious that ever- more people are becoming aware of the deception and media/government credibility is threatened.
Stage One: Marginalization (Mockery: “Don’t be a Conspiracy Theorist! It isn’t happening.”) Stage Two: Minimization (Stingy Concession: “Okay, maybe it is happening, but only a little and just sometimes.”) Stage Three: Normalization (Arrogant Dismissal: “Fine, it’s happening a lot, but it’s still not as bad as you claim.”) Stage Four: Retconning (Gaslighting: “This has always been known. You should thank us for informing you!”) Recently I came across a “Stage Two: Minimization” admission that geoengineering exists (score one for “conspiracy theorists”) but it’s used “only just a little.”
From the NYT: “In a guarded compound at the foot of the Rockies, government scientists are working on a new kind of global alarm system: One that can detect if another country, or maybe just an adventurous billionaire, tries to dim the sun.” So, Bill Gates, who recently launched a private Solar Radiation Management program despite public outcry, is just a silly ol’ “adventurous billionaire”?
“Every few weeks, researchers...release a balloon that rises 17 miles into the sky...that would alert American scientists to geoengineering.” “As of now, scientists believe that solar geoengineering has only been attempted at a very small scale, despite the claims of conspiracy theorists.' They couldn’t resist that smear. And notice “scientists believe,” meaning “they see no evidence,” in my opinion due to government suppression.
So, what will stage four reveal?

Take a breath
To the editor, I admit to being a conservative politically and my wife also says financially.
Not sure what she means.
I try to look at things with common sense and decide if certain ways of doing things are working or not working and needing a different way to accomplish what the goal is.
History provides a lot of examples of what has worked in the past. For example income tax cuts when tried have produced more revenue to the treasury than a higher tax rate.
When people have more money to spend this increases economic activity.
Some folks on the left claim tax cuts only favor the rich and big corporations.
First of all they don’t seem to understand that those two groups pay a higher amount of the taxes to start with. My friends on the left don’t like the idea of tariffs. They were used in America from its creation until income tax was created because of the Great Depression that was to tax only the rich a small percent of their income.
How did that work out?
Some on the left seem compelled to criticize Mr.
Trump’s choices for his cabinet and committee heads.
I thought they might hold their tongues after Biden’s ineffective choices of Harris, Mayorkas, Buttigieg, Austin, Blinken and Garland.
My real point here is when the Republicans are in power the liberals are angry and unhappy. But thing is when the Democrats were in power they were still angry and unhappy. Take a breath and relax for a while. Count your blessings

Hunter pardoned?
To the editor, For the first time in history, a President pardons his son. Not just the gun charges but a blanket pardon. The gun charges were unconstitutional anyway.
No, this pardon was for any crimes committed from January 1,2014 to December 1,2024. This one has both sides roaring. Joe also bypassed the DOJ’s pardon office for this one. Hunter’s tax case sentencing was coming up soon. Joe claimed Hunter was singled out politically because he was his son. Trump wasn’t singled out politically? Was this an abuse of power?
Two-tier justice? Think of this, the FBI raided Barron Trump’s bedroom and didn’t touch Hunter’s.
What happened in 2014?
Oh, that’s the year that the CIA spawned a color revolution in Ukraine and overthrew their government and installed a new one. Also, Hunter joined the Burisma Board. Shortly after, as we recently found out, Hunter began investing in bio-labs in Ukraine.
How does money get laundered? Remember when VP Joe wanted the prosecutor fired in Ukraine who was investigating Hunter and Burisma? The prosecutor got fired. VP Biden leveraged a Billion dollar loan guarantee to get him fired.
The Biden WH is now considering preemptive pardons for Dr. Fauci, Liz Cheney (J6 Committee), Adam Schiff and a host of others. Hmm... did they commit crimes? Joe apparently thinks they may have.
There is a silver lining for justice here. As pardoned, Hunter can be compelled to testify and can’t use/plead the 5th Amendment. If he refuses to testify, criminal charges can be added. If he testifies, incriminating himself and others, Hunter will be safe but those around him won’t be. Hunter may need additional security for protection.
It’s going to be interesting to watch how this plays out. You can’t make this stuff up.

Skeptical of the Trump
effect
To the editor, According to Glen Pierce, just electing Trump changed everything for the better. Right after the election, a survey on the economy showed a 2 3% increase in thinking the economy was better.
Nothing happened in the economy, but people felt it was suddenly better. That’s the political placebo effect.
Fox says it’s good and you feel better.
Right after the election my roses shot up and bloomed because my community voted 68% for Trump. My car tires seem to have more tread. The lights seem brighter. The dishes are cleaner when I take them out of the dish washer. This is the “Trump effect.”
While Glen likely thinks that Trump’s farts smell like the cologne he is selling, I am a bit more skeptical.
Trump is like a Roman Caesar while Rome burns, who then blames it on the Christians. I recall Trump supporters having a choir practice at the beginning of COVID when Trump said it would go away. Some of them died.
Trump has a couple of billionaires who are going to tell you to cut your SSI and Medicare so a huge federal tax cut for them can be funded by you. Soon local crypto miners will be able to dump their outdated computers in the river and you will be told that the fish thrive on the artificial reef and leaching chemicals.
Also, no more vaccines so your kids can experience polio, measles, mumps, chicken pox, whooping cough and the coming bird flu.
Unlike Glen, I don’t want to follow Trump’s lemmings and run off the political cliff. I am getting ready for a political “end of days.”
Or like the book 1984, you can keep watching Fox with your camera on, so Trump sees you admiring him. Just sit back with Glen and embrace “Trump effect.”
