Precious Infant

As waves wash Hawaii’s ocean floor 

Beautiful tiny bubbles pop up on the sandy shore 

Luminous moon of the Hawaiian night 

Shown bright into the cave’s dim light 

Where Jesus – the Savior baby is born 

Virgin Mary – a precious Hawaiian pearl 

Bore Jesus – Savior of the wide world 

He sways on Mother Mary’s lap 

Mary piously prays while child naps 

Flowers scatter from her Hawaiian lei 

Down to the straw mat in the hay 

Where dear Jesus lay 

Jesus sleeps through chatter of the Ne 

Ne Blessed child – “keiki” with olive skin 

And straight black hair cuddles near 

A brilliant shiny star

In the East appears 

Wisemen came from afar 

And so did miniature der – Monk seal – sea turtles 

And Ne Nee – Hawaiian Christmas goose 

And the whole world Was filled with love and truth
