Why do I write poems, could be because I can rhyme, I write them now because I have plenty of time. I write many poems, but not all of them are that good, I’m happy when I write one that turns out like it should.
I write about events that are coming or that have already been, I’ve written about rivers and trees, pastures, thunder and wind.
I have penned several thoughts and opinions of a political nature, About elections and inquests by our representative legislature.
I hope to be enlightening as I will attempt to cheer up, The many people that are sad and down on their luck. I write about my experiences, not only now but in my younger days, Not all of my adventures though, for some were left in a haze.
I write about people and their adventures through life, Some days filled with happiness and others weighted with strife.
There are many things out there I have not had the chance to see, If for nothing else I am happy where I am, no place I’d rather be.
The Riddle is solved, and I guess I’m just a simple man, Why do I write poems now? Just because I still can…
