Sled dog races coming up
PRIEST LAKE - The 53rd Priest Lake Sled Dog Race is Saturday- Sunday, Feb. 1- 2 at the Forest Service Airstrip in Priest Lake.
Teams ranging from one dog to eight dogs will compete in this competitive event. Spectators can attend free of charge, but registration is required for those who wish to compete.
The drivers meeting will commence at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, and the races will start at around 9:30 a.m. continuing through the early afternoon.

Mid-Distance: Eight dog and six dog (20-minutes). A minimum of five entries will be required to hold this event Sprint: Eight dog sprint (nine-miles), six dog sprint (5.7 miles), four dog sprint (4.7 miles), four dog sprint Youth/ Junior (4.7 miles), novice sprint (2.4 miles).
Skijor: 2-dog Skijoring (4.7 miles), 1-dog Skijoring (2.4 miles) Other: Fat Bikejor (2.4 miles, only if enough entries), novice youth/ junior (1 mile), Teddy Bear (Saturday only).
Public invited to watershed meeting
PRIEST RIVER – The Priest River Watershed Group (PRWG) Steering Committee will be holding its monthly board meeting Thursday, Jan.
9, 4:30- 6:30 p.m. at the West Bonner Library, located at 118 Main St., in Priest River.
The public is welcomed to attend.
