Three qualify for second round of district golf

DEER PARK – Newport golf had their first subdistrict round at Deer Park Monday.

Chase Warren is currently in sixth with an 84. Berg Hughes in 12th with 90. Ace McLeslie and Arthur Dibble tied with 97. “Ninety seven was the cut line to play the second round of districts next Monday at Latah Creek golf course,” Coach Eric Slinger says. “Two district rounds are combined and the top nine go to state plus two alternates.”

In the girls side, Mykla Kiehn currently is in fourth with a 95.

Missing the cut was Riley Slinger 101, Ethan Batsch 104, Shannen Preston 105, Noah Erickson 116 and Brie Strid 155. “We have the Spokane City championships on Thursday at the Kalispell Golf and Country Club and Arthur Dibble and Mykla Kiehn were our two qualifiers based on league play,” Slinger says.
