Bonner County Planning underway

SANDPOINT – New year, new public hearings coming up via the Bonner County Planning Department. Below is a list of upcoming hearings readers/residents might find interesting.

Written statements regarding proposals and zone change requests must be submitted to the planning department record no later than seven days prior to the public hearings. Written statements not exceeding one standard letter sized, single spaced page may be submitted at the public hearing. Statements can be sent to BCPD at 1500 Highway 2, Suite 208, Sandpoint, Idaho 83864, faxed to 866-537-4935 or emailed to [email protected].

Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1:30 p.m.

The applicant is requesting a conditional use permit for a communication tower on 9.794-acres. The property is zoned Rural 5 and is located off Highway 41.

The applicant is requesting a 3-feet property line setback where 5-feet is required. The 0.229-acre property is zoned Recreation. The project site is located off Kalispell Cove Road.

The applicant is requesting a 1,343 square foot accessory dwelling unit where 900 feet is required. The 10-acre property is zoned Rural 10 and located of Lowrey Road.

Thursday, Jan. 16, 5:30 p.m.

The applicant is requesting a zone change for a 20-acre property from Rural 10 to Rural 5. The project site is located of Hunter Road.

Wednesday, Jan. 22, 1:30 p.m.

The applicant is requesting a zone change for a 1.81-acre property project site, located off Creekside Lane and Highway 200 from Rural 5 to Recreation.

The applicant is requesting a 40-feet shoreline setback where 75-feet is required.

The 20-acre property is zoned Rural 5. The project site is located off Sandy Shores Lane.

The applicant requested reconsideration of the Board of County Commissioners’ decision to deny this project at the September 2024 hearing.

Applicants are requesting a vacation of a portion of Paul Street, a public right-of-way, through Idaho Code Title 40. The proposed piece of property to be vacated is approximately 2.5-acres.

Wednesday, Jan. 29, 1:30 p.m.

The applicant is requesting a conditional use permit for a private airstrip. The 20.875-acre property is zoned Agricultural/ Forestry 10 and is located of Highway 95. Applicants are requesting a variance to the depth to width standards to allow for depth to width ratios of 5.00:1 and 5.68:1 where 3.2:1 is required. The 0.699acre and 0.231-acre properties are zoned Suburban. The project site is located of Larch Street.

The applicant is requesting a variance to a property line setback of zero feet where 5-feet is required for the purposes of constructing a deck. The1.05-acre property is zoned Recreation.

The project site is located off Bayview Drive.
