North Pend Oreille Tree of Sharing breaks recipient record
METALINE FALLS - The North Pend Oreille Tree of Sharing broke its record for number of gift recipients last year.
The nonprofit organization gave 89 children gifts in 2024, over 15 more than in 2023. Each child received a bag with a requested gift and additional toys, books or clothes.
Volunteers and the “financial generosity” of individuals, businesses and other organizations support the NPO Tree of Sharing, according to a press release.
This year’s volunteers included Lynn Barnes, Trish Fairbairn, Kathy Grass, Joyce Evans and Tara Leininger. Cash donations and gift purchases came from “many” anonymous individuals and financial support from Boundary Dam employees and the North Pend Oreille Valley Lions Club.
For more information about the NPO Tree of Sharing, contact Barnes or Leininger at the Metaline Falls Congregational United Church of Christ at 509-446-3301.
