Plenty of snow for Priest Lake Sled Dog races

PRIEST LAKE – Mushers and their dogs enjoyed the competition and snow at the 53rd Priest Lake Sled Dog Races, held Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 1-2 near the Forest Service Air strip.

Not only huskies and malamutes were used in competitions at Priest Lake over the weekend. Kate Almon of Sandy, Oregon, is shown here with her Beaucerons, Cee Cee and Timber, which she used in the skijoring event. The dogs pulled her on skis. This was Almon’s first year competing at Priest Lake.
