Paint and Party at high school

NEWPORT - The Newport Creative District will host a Paint and Party event on Thursday, March 20, 6 p.m. at Newport High School to support young artists in the area. Proceeds from the event will help fund the Visual Arts Scholarship offered by Evergreen Art Association.

All students, families and community members of all skill levels are welcome.

“Make art for the joy of it,” says Clare Clark, founder of Paint and Party Events.

Tickets to the event are available for $40 per person on the Newport Creative District’s website at www.newportcreativedistrict. com/events. Step-by-step instructions and supplies will be provided by the lead artist/instructor, Clare Clark. A light meal will be provided by the Evergreen Art Association.

For the past 43 years, the Evergreen Art Association has awarded $500 to graduating seniors from area schools or home school for continuing education in the field of visual arts, including fine art, commercial art, computer graphics, website design and photography. This year the amount to be awarded has increased to $1,000.
