PRIEST LAKE — The Priest Lake Museum is collecting families’ oral histories.
Jim Howes, the museum’s oral history collector, collects oral histories so others can learn about the people who helped shape the community, according to a Priest Lake Library newsletter. Oral histories fill in the gaps in documented history, passing on experience and knowledge.
Howes has always enjoyed talking with others and hearing their family history, according to the newsletter. To Howes, listening to their stories is better than reading a book. He sees the expressions on their faces and visible pride in their family, community and accomplishments.
To record a family’s oral history at the museum, contact Howes at 831-254-0695 or [email protected] for more information.
