Graduations are not the only celebrations to look forward to towards the end of the school year. With band concerts, Arbor Day plantings and field trips planned, many schools are winding down their academic year with a bang.
“The end of the year is always an exciting time and overall all of the activities are a celebration for students and parents,” Newport District Superintendent David Smith said.
“One of our favorite traditions we have here is the graduate walk where our high school graduates walk through all of the buildings and the hallways are lined with all of our students K – 12,” Smith said. “The last part of that walk is at the elementary and our kindergarten students walk behind our seniors through the elementary with their graduation gowns on and then take a large group photo with our kinders and seniors together.”
