Daisy the Donkey

Had a passion for wild fragrant flowers In high mild mountain meadows Surrounded by redwood and walnut trees Wild oaks with bushy fur coats And muddy boots stuck in dangling roots For rose silently like quiet thunder Settling down ever so slowly in muddy puddles Fast running creeks run below mountain peaks Sun’s rays sparkle away mellow haze Frogs croak in the pond in the middle of the meadow Moon dripped down yellow drops in waves And Daisy the Donkey brayed Pond frogs turned blue in the chilled fog And the daffodils were kissed with mist Moon climbed over redwood and walnut trees And peeped into their giant huddle Daisy ran through haze in the meadow Bedded down for the night Under heavenly star light -Elaine Magdalene Faires
