PRIEST RIVER – The Priest River Spartan boys basketball team got league win against Kellogg at home Saturday, Feb. 15, winning 51-48.
That put the Spartans in a game for the league championship against St. Maries Tuesday, Feb. 18, after The Miner’s deadline. Both teams have 6-1 league records.
Nate Stifel scored a game-high 18 points against Kellogg. Carter Cook scored 10 points. Cook also pulled down a game high nine rebounds, while Stifel blocked three shots, the most in the game.
Parker Coleman had a game high nine assists and five steals to go with seven rebounds and seven points.
The game was tight throughout, with the Spartans up 15-14 in the first quarter and by four at the half. The teams played an even 12-12 third quarter and Kellogg outscored the Spartans 10-9 in fourth quarter.
