PRIEST RIVER – The Priest River Spartans boys basketball team fell 53-51 to Orofino Monday night, putting them in a loser out game in the Central Idaho League district tournament.

The Spartans were up 20-10 in the first quarter, before Orofino came roaring back with an 18-10 second quarter. Priest River was up by a point at the half.

Orofino took the lead in the third quarter and barely held off the Spartans in the fourth to get the win.

Priest River hosts St. Maries Wednesday night in a must win game that starts at 7 p.m.

Hunting education starts

USK – Hunter education classes have been scheduled, with 25 spots available at each course at a cost of $20 for in-person classes and $10 for online classes. The classroom sessions will be held at the Camas Center for Community Wellness in Usk, with field sessions at the Newport Gun Club.

An orientation class will take place March 17, from 6-7 p.m. at the Wellness Center. The course will take place March 24, 26 and 28, from 5-8 p.m. The field course will take place March 29, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information contact Walt Olson at 360-484-3133 or email [email protected].
