An afternoon at Newport Library

NEWPORT — Patrons young and old visited the Newport Library the afternoon of Feb. 27, with an appearance from Fred, the city cat and regular library visitor. Like any other Thursday, they browsed through books, vied for Fred’s attention, played games and chatted with friends.

The Newport Library, open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Mondays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, is one of four Pend Oreille County Library District locations.

Cusick’s Calispel Valley Library is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. The Ione Library is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays through Thursdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Metaline Falls’ Metalines Community Library is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesdays and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
