NEWPORT — Pend Oreille County Civil Service Commission meetings are the fourth Thursday of each month at 1 p.m. All meetings are open to the public and are held at the County Commissioners’ Meeting Room, 1st floor, Courthouse, 625 W. 4th St. in Newport.

The schedule is as follows: March 20, April 17, May 15, June 26, July 24, Aug. 28, Sept. 25, Oct. 16, Nov. 20 and Dec. 18 all beginning at 1 p.m.

‘Pizza for Producers’ event March 21
COLBERT – Pizza for Producers will take place Monday, March 31, at the Green Bluff Grange, at 9809 E. Greenbluff Rd. in Colbert. Farmers and farmworkers are invited to meet and enjoy wood fired pizza made from locally sources ingredients. There will be live music and COMET training.
COMET training is a meeting to best learn how to support neighbors in times of high stress. It stands for Changing Our Mental and Emotional Trajectory. The training begins at 4 p.m. Pizza preparation and set up follows at 5:30 p.m., with the pizza party kicking off at 6 p.m. People are invited to bring friends and family for a fun night.
The Pizza for Producers program is held by WSU’s Extension and Western Region Agricultural Stress Assistance Program.
SPOFR changing monthly meeting time, day
DIAMOND LAKE — South Pend Oreille Fire and Rescue is changing their monthly meeting time and day.
The Board of Commissioners of SPOFR will now hold its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. on the third Tuesday of each month at the headquarters station in Diamond Lake.
