All about Easter

Per tradition, there are several community Easter egg hunts ranging from North Pend Oreille County into West Bonner County. Dress for the weather, bring those baskets and be sure to arrive a little beforehand, as the egg hunts start on time.

Newport

Head to the Newport City Park for the annual Easter egg hunt Saturday, April 19, starting promptly at 10 a.m. The hunt is hosted by the Greater Newport Area Chamber of Commerce and local businesses.

Cusick

The Calispel American Legion Post 217 Auxiliary Easter Egg Hunt is Saturday, April 10 at 10 a.m. at the Pend Oreille County Fairgrounds in Cusick. The Easter Bunny will be in attendance, and there will be candy and prizes. Plan to arrive a little early, since the hunt starts on time.

Ione

Ione’s annual Easter egg hunt is Saturday, April 19 promptly at noon in Ione Park. The hunt is open to children 13 years old and under. A separate area will be set up for kids aged 2 and under. The hunt is hosted by Selkirk Trailblazers, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, the Ione Beautification Committee and Fire District 2.

The Metalines

The American Legion Post and Auxiliary Post #144 is hosting an Easter egg hunt at noon Sunday, April 20 at Metaline Waterfront Park. The hunt is geared toward ages 12 and under and participants should bring their own baskets. The hunt starts on time, so plan to arrive a little early.

Priest River

Bring the kids to hunt Easter eggs at noon Saturday, April 19 at Priest River City Park. The hunt starts promptly at noon, so don’t be late.

Spirit Lake Head to Spirit Lake City Park for the Easter egg hunt Saturday, April 19, starting precisely at 11 a.m. Pre-kindergarten aged kids will be at Spirit Lake little park on 4th Avenue and Main Street.

Kindergarten through third grade will be on the west side of the park and children fourth grade and up will be on the park’s east side. The Easter Bunny will be there for photos. Follow the Spirit Lake Community Coalition on Facebook for more event information.

Laclede

The Laclede Community Center will host its Easter egg hunt Saturday, April 19, 10 a.m. sharp at Riley Creek Recreation Area.

There will be two egg hunting areas in the park for age groups 6 and under and 7 to 12 years old.
