Library announces ‘Pend Oreille County Reads’ event series

NEWPORT - For the third year in a row, the Pend Oreille County Library District will be hosting a Pend Oreille County Reads event series during which the community is encouraged to read the same book and attend events and discussions relating to the title.

This year’s chosen book is “The Pacific Crest Trail: A Visual Compendium” by Joshua Powell.

The Library District will be holding multiple community discussions with Powell to complete the event series. Sessions will be held at the Calispel Valley Library on June 12 at 4pm, at Create Arts Center in Newport on June 12 at 6 p.m., and at the Metalines Community Library on June 13 at 5 p.m.

Books are available for checkout at all Pend Oreille County Libraries and on Libby, the library’s digital reading app.
