NEWPORT — Newport Health Center recently added Physician Assistant Laura Noyes to the Express Care team. In addition to her passion for rural healthcare, Noyes brings experience in emergency care and wilderness medicine. She comes to Newport from Clearwater Valley Health in Orofino, Idaho.
“Adding such a valuable team member like Laura supports our reputation for providing high quality, same-day care for the community,” said Kim Manus, CEO of Newport Hospital and Health Services. “The primary care and walk-in services we provide at Newport Health Center are even better thanks to Laura’s unique and varied background and expertise.”
Noyes received her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from the University of Washington’s Spokane campus, where she still tutors and serves as a guest lecturer.
A lover of all things outdoors, she once monitored the breeding patterns of peregrine falcons while working for the National Park Service.
She and her husband, a forest ranger, recently relocated to the area with their young son.
“We’ve been travelling to this area for a while for skiing and outdoor recreation, so I’m thrilled to now be able to call it home,” Noyes said. “I’m looking forward to getting to know the community.”
