Relay teams, others place at state for Selkirk
YAKIMA – Michael Egland and Jameson Davis returned from the state 1B track meet in Yakima with multiple medals.
Egland won medals in the triple jump, where he took fifth with a 38-feet, 6-inch jump, the long jump, where he won another fifth with a 19-feet 5-inch jump. Egland also ran on the sixth place 4X400 meter relay team along with Spencer Duty, Nathanial Rasmussen and Jameson Davis.
In addition to running on the relay teams, Davis won fourth in the 1,600 meters race with a time of 4:39.69. He won sixth in the 800-meter race.
Food film presented at CREATE
NEWPORT - The documentary Food, Inc.
2: Back for Seconds will be shown, Sunday, June 2 starting at 2 p.m. at CREATE Arts Center, 900 West 4th St., in Newport.
The film focuses on innovative farmers, future-thinking food producers, workers rights activists, and prominent legislators who are challenging the food producers in order to inspire change and build a healthier, more sustainable future, according to organizers.
Donations are welcomed at the door and refreshments will be served. Closed caption is provided. CREATE Arts Center is a handicapped accessible facility.
