McMillan atop Columbia River Circuit standings

Caleb McMillan, 26, has been a Newport Rodeo contestant for well over a decade. He currently leads the Columbia River Circuit All Around standings, with $6,990 in winnings at Professional Rodeo Cowboys’ Association rodeos in the Washington, Oregon and Northern Idaho region which makes up the Columbia River Circuit. Contestants don’t have to live in the circuit, they can pick a circuit in which to have their points count. All points count towards the PRCA’s world standings as well.

McMillan won the circuit All Around title last year, with

$32,614. He finished second in

2023 CRC bull riding standings, with $18,967.

Most of McMillan’s earnings in

2024 have been in bull riding, where he is ranked second in the Columbia River Circuit standings, with $5,736 in winnings so far this season. He is also ranked in steer roping (fourth), steer wrestling (eighth) and tie down roping

(15th).

Newport’s Austin Krogh is ranked eighth in the saddle bronc riding.

Colt Schneiderman of Deer Park is ranked fourth in bull riding.

It’s still early in the season for the Columbia River Circuit, which has had seven competitions so far. It is slated to have 56 events this year, including Newport (June 20, 21, 22).

Sisters and Union, Ore. have rodeos June 5-6 and the Colville Rodeo is set for June 14-15.

The Columbia River Circuit is home to some of the biggest and most historic rodeos in the nation, including Ellensburg, the Pendleton Roundup and the Omak Stampede.
