Gowned in gold above burnished hills of Australia’s Mountains – marvelous velvet moon gleams above horizon Lilies in the proud peppered pebbled pond with Suds and buds and lily pads aloft – from the earthquake’s din Puggle flew on a magic carpet with his duckbill Paint brush tail and odd otter feet Little Puggle was dangerous – so you don’t want to meet Him with his venom on an out back track Though he is a hazard – he is cream puff affectionate The animals in Australia – wombat – kangaroo – Tasmanian devil Echidna (ant eater) – koala and platypus did all Ride on the phantom quake – as the ground went on a merry-go-round With Puggle’s artist eyes – he painted to the tune of the wind and breeze Sailing through eucalyptus trees With rushed brushed strokes – hues of delicate orange for sunset Purple for clouded mountains and emerald green for earthquake Whipped fish-filled pond The painted pond serves up the picture grand Across Australia’s – God’s Promised Land --Elaine Magdalene Faires
