Rodeo sign stolen

Rodeo sign stolen

The Newport Rodeo sign at the county’s southern border was stolen last week, as shown in these before and after pictures. The sign was firmly attached and didn’t blow away, says Bill Deilke of the Newport Rodeo Committee. He said when he went out to change the sign to advertise the upcoming Rough Stock Rodeo, he discovered the sign was gone and reported it to Pend Oreille County Sheriff Glenn Blakeslee. Blakeslee said his office is investigating and reminds people that stealing signs, including political signs, is illegal. It can rise to a felony if the sign is worth more than $750.
