Down River Days this weekend in Ione

IONE – Summer is in full swing. A good way to enjoy this weather is by attending Down River Days in Ione this weekend.

Festivities kick off Friday, July 26, when vendors set up in the Ione Park from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sign up for Crazy Co-ed Softball at 6 p.m. at the Ione ballfields. The game starts at 6:30 p.m.

A Kids’ Color Run is at 6:30 p.m., with sign ups at 6 p.m., on Old Mill Road by the Pend Oreille PUD in Ione. Participants will be doused in colored powder during the race, which is for kids 13 and younger. Parents can participate with their small kiddos.

Saturday, July 27, starts with a cowboy breakfast from 7-10 a.m. The parade lineup starts at 9:30 a.m. The parade starts at 10:30 a.m.

The Firemen’s Water Fight is at noon on Main Street.

The beer garden will be open in the park from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will also be music in the park from noon to 4 p.m. Inflatables are available for kids age toddler to 20 years.

Bingo is from noon to 4 p.m. in the Big Pavilion. The evening wraps up with an outdoor concert from 7-10 p.m. on Fourth and Main streets.

Sunday, July 28 is highlighted by the watercross races, when participants ride snowmobiles across the Pend Oreille River. Events begin with a cowboy breakfast from 7-10 a.m. Watercross registration is from 8-10 a.m. and the event is from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The beer garden and vendors will be in the park starting at 10 a.m.

No dogs are allowed and there’s no parking in Ione City Park.
