Bike rodeo set for Sept. 14

NEWPORT – The 10th Annual Newport Area Bike Rodeo is scheduled to occur on Saturday, Sept.14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Sadie Halstead Middle School. Each year organizers hand out free helmets (provided by event sponsors), record bike serial numbers, and provide Child ID kits with help from US Border Patrol and the Pend Oreille County Sheriff’s Office. There is also a bike maintenance station, safety instruction booth, and obstacle course run by Newport Police Department, which ends with the participant receiving a prize provided by the Pend Oreille County Library District as well as healthy snacks which are provided by an event sponsor.

Tour The Cutter Theatre

METALINE FALLS – Building tours of the Cutter Theatre in Metaline Falls are offered on Saturday, Aug. 3, 17 and 31, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the historic Cutter Theatre in Metaline Falls. Self guided building tours are also offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Cutter Theatre is located at 302 Park Street in Metaline Falls.

Vendors sought for September event

CUSICK – Paws for a Cause Music & More Festival is seeking vendors for the Sept. 21 event, which will be held at the Pend Oreille County Fairgrounds, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The festival will benefit the Priest River Animal Rescue.

Crafters, commercial sale vendors, farm and produce vendors, baked goods vendors and business and non-profit groups are welcome. Indoor and outdoor space is available. Electricity is available. The cost for a 10-by-10-foot space is $40 with electricity and $30 without electricity.
