Kalispel Tribe of Indians holds free food distribution event

CUSICK – The Kalispel Tribe of Indians announces a 2nd Harvest Mobile Market free food distribution event Thursday, Aug. 8, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., while supplies last, at Kalispel Casino, 420 Qlispe River Rd., Cusick.

The Tribe is a proud sponsor of this event, which aims to serve up to 250 families in need.

The Mobile Market initiative is designed to support individuals and families facing hunger, providing nutritious food at no cost. No appointment or documentation required.

The Kalispel Tribe of Indians recognizes the importance of addressing food insecurity and is committed to supporting initiatives that provide direct assistance to those in need, according to a press release. By partnering with 2nd Harvest Mobile Market, the Tribe can extend vital resources to families facing food insecurity in Pend Oreille County. “We are honored to sponsor 2nd Harvest’s Mobile Market and provide convenient access to free and healthy foods to our local community,” said Curt Holmes, Kalispel Tribal Council Vice Chair and Executive Director of Kalispel Casino & Government Affairs. “The Kalispel Tribe has experienced poverty and knows what it’s like to struggle to put food on the table, especially during challenging times when grocery costs are so high. We hope those who need a little helping hand right now will take advantage of this great opportunity.”

The Kalispel Tribe of Indians invites all community members in need to participate in this event.
