‘Seed Saving’ class Aug. 8
NEWPORT – The basics of growing, harvesting and storing seeds will be taught by Master Gardeners at a class at Create Center for the Arts in Newport, Thursday, Aug. 8 at 6:30 p.m. Saving your own garden seeds can save you money and reward you with developing a variety of plant adapted to your unique environment, according to a news release from the WSU Extension Office’s Mater Gardener’s program. Each crop has different requirements, and some are easier to get positive results than others. People can learn to identify which plants are inbreeders, outbreeders and discover other plant genetics leading up to breeding your own varieties. Master Gardeners Kamori Cattadoris and Dixie Chichester teach the class.
The class fee is $5, ($3 for MGs), and can be paid by check, money order, cash or through PayPal. To register for this class contact Beverly Sarles, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at 509-4472401 or email anytime at [email protected].
