A Cute Little Snake

My kitten “Jingle Bells” brought into my house a cute little snake It was round and brown – a foot long Snake was silent as could be – he smiled at me Snake raised his head a bit and wagged his tail tip His coil was all in a tangle on the muddy buggy rug Jingle Bells squeaked in her bity voice ais if to say “See what I brought you in today – Mamma?” Poor snake didn’t look worse for ware Just looked surprised and blinked sheepish eyes I bottled up – buttoned down my courage I picked up slippery snake – right in his round middle Trembling – I secured Jingle Bells behind the door Down the stairs – my hair furled in a whirl Gently placed smooth-skinned snake along some Evergreen bushes and rocks Then finally took in a desperately needed breath A cute little snake from his head to his end!
