Faye Self

Faye Self
Faye Self was born on June 11, 1926, in Woodland, Idaho to Harley and Estella Hodson. She passed away on February 7, 2025, in Oldtown Idaho at the age of 98.
She met the love of her life, Dallas “Doc” Self, and they were married on January 8, 1949. They had 2 children, 6 grandchildren, as well as great-grandchildren, and greatgreat grandchildren. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1957 and served faithfully for 68 years. Faye and Doc ran their own business until Faye retired in 2002.
They always had an active role in their children and grandchildren’s lives. They made a profound impact when help and support was needed. Faye lovingly made quilts and crocheted blankets for babies born in the family and friend’s families.
She loved gardening and grew a beautiful variety of roses and flowers. She was avid in scrapbooking and loved to record major events and history of the family. In the fall she canned fruits, vegetables, and apple sauce and then share with family and friends. Faye was known for her unwavering faith and loved to study the bible with others. Her encouragement and hospitality touched many lives.
We join Faye’s firm faith in the resurrection and are looking forward to seeing her again. Revelation 21:4,5 promises “and he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away...These words are faithful and true” Memorial services will be held at 2pm March 8, 2025. Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses 101 Lilac Lane, Newport, WA 99156.
