Evelyn was born Sept. 8, 1930, in Toledo, Oregon, to parents John and Theresa Peckick. The family moved to Kellog, Idaho, then eventually when Evelyn was in the fifth grade, moved to Ione, Washington, where her father bought and ran the Pend Oreille Hotel for many years. Evelyn worked as a waitress at the hotel for many years. She attended high school in Ione graduating in 1949. In 1950 she married Theodore (Ted) . She lost Ted in 1978. She was preceded in death by brothers Edward, Fred, Woodrow, Willy, Sylvester, Joe and sisters Jane and Julia.

Evelyn never drove and you could see her for years walking uptown to get her mail and have coffee. She helped out as a waitress at what is now known as IPH for many years, just for the fun of it. She was a wonderful cook, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Evelyn passed away Oct. 30, 2023 in Spokane, Washington. She is survived by her sons Ted (Colleen), Terry, and Tim (Wendy) and numerous grandkids and great grandkids. She is greatly missed.

Services will be held at the Ione Cemetery Sunday, June 2 at noon, with a Celebration of Life in the Ione Park to follow.
