With heavy hearts and deep sorrow we are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Barbara Ellen Carrara on September 1, 2024, at the age of 71 years old. Barbara was born on December 1,1952, in Marysville, California to Wayne and Ellen Bingham. She was a loving mother to her children, who were the pride and joy of her life. In addition, she was blessed with her many grandchildren, each of whom brought immense happiness and laughter to her days. Throughout her life, she was known for her love, kindness, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family.

Barbara was a passionate traveler who visited 5 continents, immersing herself in the diverse cultures of the world. Her love of adventure and curiosity about the world made her an inspiration to her friends and family. From bustling cities to remote villages, Barbara embraced every opportunity to learn and grow, leaving a trail of cherished memories with the loved ones she often traveled with.

Barbara was a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse who devoted her life to caring for others, bringing comfort and healing to countless patients for over 40 years. She graduated summa cum laude with a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Gonzaga University, a reflection of her academic excellence and commitment to her profession. She dedicated the majority of her career to serving veterans at the Spokane VA Hospital, where she provided the compassionate care they deserved. Her unwavering commitment to those who served their country exemplified her deep sense of duty and kindness.

Barbara is survived by her sons Billy Carrara of California, Josh Bingham of Oregon, and Nate Carrara of Washington, her daughters Tammy Bykerk of Washington, and Michele Elmore of Texas, her brothers Chuck Bingham of Arizona, Mike Bingham of Idaho, and Don Bingham of Montana, and many cherished friends and colleagues. She was preceded in death by her father Wayne Bingham, mother Ellen Bingham, brother Jim Bingham, and best friend Kay Randall.

In accordance with her wishes, Barbara was cremated. There will be no public viewing or ceremony. Instead, her family will celebrate her life privately by taking her to her most favorite place in the world, the Oregon Coast, where they will honor her memory in a place she loved dearly. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
