MacArthur Lee Byers passed away peacefully Sept. 25, 2024, in Spokane Valley, Washington, at the age of 81. Born in Troy, Idaho, to Michael and Millie (Beadone) Byers on Dec. 28, 1942, Mac was the sixth of seven siblings and is survived by his sister Connie Wear and brother Buddy Gail Byers. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Jeanette Losh, Bonita Wilde and Betty Lartz, brother Leonard Byers and granddaughter, Hannah Bianche.
Mac is survived by his children, Michael Byers and Michele Bianche of Spokane Valley, Washington. A proud grandfather to four grandchildren, Victoria Byers, Kylie Bianche, Matthew Bianche and Kaden Bianche.
Mac proudly served his country for six years in the United States Army before settling into Newport, Washington where he raised his family and grew roots within the community. He served his local church at Newport Assembly of God for over 20 years. Mac retired from his career with Tri Pro Cedar Products of 36 years in 2008 after changing ownership many times over the years. Mac will always be remembered as loyal, fun-loving, witty and childlike at heart with a beautiful simple approach to life.
A memorial service and reception will be held Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. at the Priest River Event Center, Priest River, Idaho. He will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in Priest River, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, the family requests, if you own a classic car, to please drive it to the memorial in celebration of Mac's love of these vehicles.
