Larry Brian Crisp
Sacheen Lake
A kind, thoughtful, gentle man, husband, father, gramps and friend, Larry Brian Crisp, left us to be with his Lord on November 7, 2024.
He was born in Spokane in 1939. He attended Rogers High School, spent 27 years with Nalley's Potato Chips working his way from the clean-up crew to manager of the plant until its closure in 1984. Then worked for Kimlee & Hagood until his retirement in 2001.
Larry met his wife Kathy on a blind date in 1959. They were married after a short courtship. He asked, "Can I have this dance for the rest of my life," and she said YES. They loved and treasured each other for 65 years and were blessed with two daughters, Sheri Crisp Perry and Sandy Crisp Hunt.
Larry was a gifted athlete enjoying many years of softball and bowling with Kathy, her brother Dee Scott and wife Jan.
Vintage cars were his second love and enjoyed restoring his 1957 Chevy, 1955 Chevy Pickup and a 1968 Mercury Cougar. Larry and Kathy's life together was filled with fun and adventure. Living many years at Sacheen Lake gave them the opportunity to enjoy fishing, hunting, boating, snowmobiling and camping. And one of the greatest seasons of life was their 17 years as snowbirds in Yuma AZ.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Rita Crisp and his brother Gary Crisp. He is survived by his sister Judy Benner (Paul), his wife Kathy Scott Crisp and daughters Sheri Crisp Perry (Rodger) and Sandra Crisp Hunt, four grandchildren: Kristin Moreno (George), Rachelle Elkins, Amy Mundo (Ruben) and Chad Hunt (Ashley). He was also blessed with 10 great grandchildren. Larry and Kathy often joked "we did our part in populating the Earth."
One of Larry's favorite comforting scripture verses includes: Let not your hearts be troubled; In my Father's house are many rooms; and I go and prepare a place for you.
A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, Nov. 23, 2024 at Shadle Park Presbyterian Church, 5508 N. Alberta, Spokane, WA 99205, with a reception to follow.
Visitation will be available on Fri. Nov 22 from 10am - 6pm at Riplinger Funeral Home.
